In light of the darkness in the world right now, we added a new shoppable section to our online store, appropriately titled.
"Kinship: the feeling of being connected to other people."
Many of you know that Matt and I worked for years to open our physical retail store, but after many months of renovations, we were only able to keep the doors open for 5 days. We opened on March 12th, and closed on March 18th (we're closed on Mondays.) We decided to put the health of our community and our staff ahead of our store, and hoped others would do the same. Like many, many other small businesses, we are currently without income for an indefinite amount of time. Unlike other small businesses though, we didn't have time to prepare for tragedy. 5 days... we got 5 whole days.
While part of me is so very frustrated at our circumstances, I've been using this downtime to put my energy and focus into other people and raising money for charities rather than throwing a pity party for myself. I created the 'Kinship' section on our website to host brand new products that are perfect for brightening someone's day. Send a package to a healthcare worker, homeschooling parent, a loved one, or keep for yourself. We all deserve a break, and grace, during these hard times.
Our physical store may not be open, but you can help us overcome this, and be able to open our doors once again. We offer free local curbside pickup, free local delivery within 10 miles of downtown Beaufort, SC, OR we can ship to anywhere in the U.S. (shipping rates apply.)
Your encouragement truly, honestly, deeply- means more to us than I could ever begin to express. Thank you for supporting our small business.
All my love,
Amidst The Alders
