Mid-1800s Restored Pine Chest

Gorgeous restored antique pine chest from the mid-1800s. We imported ornate, solid brass antique hardware from Italy to replace missing pieces, and gave this chest a fresh paint job in a striking green-gold. The brass hinges are original to the piece and were caked in black paint, so we cleaned them up to complement the new color. We filled and repaired a few moderate areas of damage, but we purposefully left any pock marks and dents; after all, this piece is 175+ years old, and we wanted to leave some of the character so it adds depth of history and mystery to a space, instead of looking brand new.
